Obituary of Helga Anderson

Helga Eleanor (Carlson) Anderson, 96, previously of Cambridge, died on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 in Santa Ana, Calif. where she has lived for the past 8 years. She was born on November 14, 1913, in Maple Ridge, MN. At age 17, she took a job in Minneapolis, and while there she met John Anderson, whom she married. They lived in Minneapolis for a number of years, before moving to Isle and later Onamia, Minnesota. When they retired, the empty-nest couple moved to Cambridge, Minnesota. John passed away in 1992. In 2002 Helga moved to Town and Country Manor in Santa Ana, California, where she had lived independently. She has many long-term friends in the Cambridge area—friendships that continued strong through on-going mail contact. She is survived by her sons, Phil, David and Joel, and their wives, twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She has one surviving brother, John Carlson of Cambridge, Minnesota. Preceding her in death were siblings Paul Carlson, Linnea Pike, David Carlson, Margaret Sommer, Magnhild Lundin, Gunnard Carlson, Gunhild Carlson and a baby sister in Sweden.
