Obituary of Ellen Seel

Ellen J. Seel, 69, of Cambridge, formerly of Andover passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at the Cambridge Health Care Center. She was born July 2, 1937 in Staples, Minnesota to Joseph and Louise (Junker) DeGeest. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Motley. Ellen grew up in Motley, attending country school and graduated from Staples High School. On July 18, 1955 she was united in marriage to Robert Seel at St. Johns Lutheran Church on Motley. They moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where Robert was stationed while in the Air Force. While in Nebraska their first two children Jim and Debbie were born. In 1958 the family moved to Minneapolis and their third child Patricia was born. They spent most of their time living in Andover. Ellen worked at eh Post Office in Anoka for many years, retiring in 1995. In 2000 they moved to Cambridge and built a home south of Goldenwood. Ellen and Bob enjoyed traveling and went on several trips during their retirement years. Ellen enjoyed painting, making crafts, sewing, baking, gardening, baking, canning, hunting and fishing. She was a member of the Red Hatters, was a member of Olive Branch Lutheran Church and Family of Christ Lutheran Church while in Andover and Joy Lutheran Church since moving to Cambridge. She enjoyed her church and was active in the bible study group. She was preceded in death by her father, infant son Robert, sister-in-law Deloris Antonson. Ellen is survived by her husband Robert of Cambridge, son Jim Seel of St. Cloud, daughters Debbie and husband Leonard Delly of Blaine, Patricia Seel of Forest Lake, six grandchildren Jacob, Bobby and Jamie Seel, Elisha Delly, Brandi, and Brittany Gemmill, mother Louise DeGeest of Staples, brothers Donald and wife Joan DeGeest of Motley, Joey and wife Janet DeGeest of Motley, Chuck and wife Olivia DeGeest of Cushing, Rodney and wife Carol DeGeest of Seattle, WA, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
