Obituary of Helen Englund

Helen E. Englund, 80, of rural Isanti passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at the Elim Home in Princeton. Helen Ellen Johnson Englund was born October 27, 1926 in Cambridge Township, Isanti County, Minnesota to Otto and Alma (Anderson) Johnson. She grew up in Isanti County attending school and graduating from Cambridge High School. After high school she worked at Creamette in Minneapolis. On December 7, 1946 she was involved in an auto accident, from which she was the last survivor, and spent 60 days in the hospital and never really recovered. On May 31, 1947 she was united in marriage to Clifford Englund. They purchased the Bradford garage in 1947 and operated it for many years. In 1955 they moved to the Englund home farm. In 1984 Clifford retired to care for Helen. After failing health, Clifford could no longer care for her so Helen moved to the Princeton Elim Home on December 29, 1993. She received such good care over the years. Helen loved her friends and tried desperately to entertain them with a big smile. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Martin Johnson, Walter Johnson and Robert Johnson and sister Ruth Norstrom. Helen is survived by sisters-in-law Evelyn Johnson and Fern Johnson of Cambridge, brothers-in-law Clarence and wife Fern Englund of Coon Rapids, Aleck and wife Harriet Englund of Cambridge, Ernest and wife Betty Englund of Isanti, Kenneth and wife Jean Englund of Isanti, Richard and wife Kareen Englund of Isanti, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
