Obituary of Marvin Bartz

Marvin George Bartz, 88, of Cambridge, formerly of Isanti passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at GracePointe Crossing West Transition Care in Cambridge. He was born October 8, 1922 to George and Edith (Erickson) Bartz at the Bartz family farm in Spencer Brook Township on Blue Lake. Marv was born and raised in the Crown area and attended the Zion Lutheran Christian School for grades 1-6 and attended St. Francis High School, graduating in 1941. He served his country in the United States Navy where he was a Flight Captain in the Pacific and was stationed in Hawaii. He was very proud to serve his country. On September 14, 1946 Marvin married the love of his life Lucile Ann Olson at the Zion Lutheran Church of Crown. They lived in the Cambridge-Isanti area for 64 years, where they raised their four children and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Marv's family was his greatest treasure, where he cherished his time with his children and their families. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edith Bartz and his sisters, Marcia (Don) Johnson, and Lois (Dean) Caryl. He is survived by his wife, Lucile; sons, Marvin Bartz Jr. (Carlene), Thomas A. Bartz (Karin), John R. Bartz (Karen), and daughter Christine C. Miller (Stephen), six Grandchildren; Paul (Tamara) Bartz, Heather Bartz (Dean Sandino), Jon Miller (Jill), Matt Miller (Danielle), Cullen Bartz and Kelsey Bartz, six great-grandchildren; Gregory, Zachary and Grant Bartz, Matthew, Samuel, and Payton Miller, as well as other relatives and friends. The family of Marvin Bartz wishes to thank the Cambridge Medical Center and GracePointe Crossing West Transition Care for their outstanding care, gentle kindness and support.
