Obituary of Clifford Erickson

Clifford J. Erickson, 89, of Dalbo, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 29, 2007 at the Cambridge Medical Center. Clifford John Erickson was born on May 7, 1917 to Olaf and Johanna (Siljendahl) Erickson in Cambridge, Minnesota. He was baptized as an infant and later confirmed at the Cambridge Lutheran Church. He attended the West Riverside School through the eighth grade. Clifford then worked for area farmers and neighboring businesses until he had to stay home and help his father on the farm. He also delivered the Sunday paper for six years; worked for Central Parlor Frame; Dalbo Creamery; Cities Service Station; Midland Cooperative for 18 ½ years; drove bus for the Cambridge School District for 24 ½ years; and also laid sod for many area businesses and residences. Clifford was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church of Dalbo at the time of his death. He served on the church council; was custodian; and mowed lawn for the church, ball field and cemetery. Clifford enjoyed the Twins ball games, playing dominoes, Rook, and checkers with friends and family. Clifford's hobby was raising quarter horses. He enjoyed going into the woods with his chainsaw and cutting wood to heat the home. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leonard Erickson, sister Margaret Christensen; grandson Shannon Jensen, special uncle and aunt Joel and Amanda From. He is survived by his wife Roberta, daughter Lana and husband Ronald Jensen of Hinckley, sons Lyle and wife Pamela Erickson of Cambridge, Dale and wife Melissa Erickson of Perkasie, PA, five grandchildren Mark (Heather) Jensen, Ryan, Aaron, Justin and Matthew Erickson, great granddaughter Madison Jensen, brother Carl W. Erickson of Cambridge, sister Julie Hinton of St. Paul, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
