Obituary of Robert Lund

Robert John Lund Sr., 72, of Cambridge died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at his home. He was born April 5, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York to Henry Lawrence and Marie (Daly) Lund. His family lived for a short time in New York and New Jersey before moving to Pennsylvania when Robert was four years old. He grew up in Mt. Lebanon, when Bob was 14 his father died so he went to work at the steel mill. He graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1952 and went on to Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. He also played two years of semi-pro football. On June 11, 1955 he was united in marriage to Cecilia Pawlowski in Bethel Park, PA. Their first child Robert Jr. was born while in Pennsylvania. In 1965 the family moved to Fargo, ND where their next two children Laurie and Shawn were born. In 1969 they moved to Coon Rapids and seven years later moved to a farm in Springvale. Bob worked as an electrical technician and worked for a time at Mereen-Johnson, and Schultz & Lindsey, he went on to retire at age 63. He also took first responder training and used his training to save a little girl's life. The past 19 years Robert & Cecilia have lived in Pine Village. Bob enjoyed hunting, shooting, and fishing. He was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church where he was active as an usher, serving communion and a song leader. Family, church, friends and music were Bob's absolute loves. His positive attitude and gift of laughter were always shown, whether it was volunteering at Christ The King Church, attending his grandchildren's activities and sporting events, or being outdoors with his children. He loved making people laugh, always saw the positive in things, was generous, kind and was always looking for someone to help. His smile and love for life will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lawrence Lund and sister Joan Fuller. Bob is survived by his wife Cecilia "Cec" Lund of Cambridge, children Robert Lund Jr. and wife Lori of Plymouth, Laurie and husband Phil Olmon of Anoka, Shawn and wife Sheri Lund of Blaine, ten grandchildren Matthew Olmon, Zachary Lund, Chelsea Lund, Ben Lund, Kris Harder, Joe Behrens, Alex Lund, Kari Lund, Trey Lund and Alexis Lund, as well as other relatives and friends.
