Obituary of Milton Dee

Milton H. Dee, 89, of Cambridge passed away peacefully on Monday, January 17th, 2011, at GracePointe Crossing, Gables East. Milton was born July 13th, 1921 in Ogilvie Minnesota to Diedrick and Julia Dee, the youngest of 14 children. Milton attended school in Ogilvie quitting after the 8th grade to work on the family farm. He joined the Army on June 29, 1945 and served in the 1st Guard Company, stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas until he was honorably discharged on December 2nd, 1946. On October 18th, 1947 he was united in marriage to Ann Marie Peterson at North Isanti Baptist Church. They made their home briefly in Minneapolis and Braham Minnesota before settling permanently in Cambridge. Milton worked for a short time at Minneapolis Moline as an assembly inspector before starting his own dairy farm. In 1957 he quit farming and worked for the Minnesota Highway Department in maintenance until his retirement in 1984. After a brief battle with cancer Ann Marie passed away in 1979. On September 12, 1981 Milton was united in marriage to Doris Holden at North Isanti Baptist Church. Milton and Doris made their home in Cambridge and after retirement spent many enjoyable winters in Arizona. Milton loved the Lord and everyday of his life was a testament to that faith. He was a kind, gentle, humble man who loved family, fishing, hunting, and woodworking, spending many hours after retirement in his workshop. Milton was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Ann Marie, brothers Elmer, Lloyd, Clifton, Herman, Wilbur, Everett, John, and Ervin, sisters Mamie and Ethel, and 2 infant siblings. He is survived by wife Doris Dee of Cambridge, sister Alice Dee of Milaca, sons Paul and wife Corrine Dee of Ham Lake, Larry and wife Diane Dee of Cambridge, Lester and wife Becky Dee of Roseville, stepson Jay and wife Terri Holden of Andover, stepdaughter Susan Holden of Balsam Lake Wisconsin, 16 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
