Obituary of James Stiegel

James Stiegel, 53, most recently of Des Moines, IA passed away March 13, 2007 at Mercy Hospice in Des Moines, IA of brain cancer. Jim was born January 22, 1954 in Hudson, WI to Elizabeth and Joseph Stiegel. He graduated from North High School in North St. Paul in 1972, and the University of Minnesota in 1976. Jim worked in Minneapolis in the insurance business until August 16, 1987 when he married Brenda Laase at the Cambridge Lutheran Church, and relocated to Anaheim, CA. Jim worked for the CIA and later for Boeing Corp. Jim loved to travel, he loved history and movies, and antique guns, motorcycles and cars, but most of all he loved to make people smile with a joke or a helping hand. He was a devoted husband and a loving son. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Brenda, mother Elizabeth Schlattman of Des Moines, IA, father Joseph Stiegel of Little Falls, MN, brother Thomas (Donna) Stiegel of Des Moines, IA, sister Kathryn May of San Francisco, CA, and in-laws John and Myrt Laase of Cambridge, MN. He was preceded in death by his step-father Robert Schlattman. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a charity of choice.
