I have so many wonderful memories of Roland. I think one of my favorites is when I went to a party at his place. Roland had been working for Mndot & I had seen him on a couple of TV stations talking about the winter weather & roads. So I decided to play a joke on him! I told everyone at the party that Roland had become a big movie star on TV. I surprised him by playing a song of Buck Owens. It goes something like this: Their going to put me in the movies, their going to make a big star out of me...and all I have to do is act naturally! The look on his face was worth a million dollars. He loved it! I will miss you cousin so much! I'm so thankful that God brought you & your family from Ca. to Mn. 27 years ago to live by me and to get to know you so well. You truly were a blessing! I will miss your wonderful smiling face!

Mandy, I'm so sad and deeply sorry for you losing Roland. I will alway remember Roland as such a happy man, he always seemed to have a smile on his face. The few times I saw you together I could tell you both were so happy with life. You both were so good for Bill and thank you for that. My prayers are with you.

Our sincere condolences to Ron, Ryan, and the girls. Roland was like a father to my kids for so many years especially during their younger years and a great godfather to my son Aaron! We will never forget the great times we had at the LaPlante "farm" in Cambridge and my kids will always remember Roland as someone very special during their growing up years! Our prayers will be with the family during this very sorrowful time.
