Obituary of Margaret Altman
Margaret Clare (Kane) Altman left us for a greater adventure on Friday, March 30, 2007 after a recurrence with breast cancer.
She was preceded in death by beloved mothers Marcella Kane (Raymond) and Virginia Erickson (Ted), grandparents, special aunt Helen Tierney, uncle Peter Tierney (Mae), numerous aunts and uncles.
Margaret is survived by sons Charles (Susan), John (Meg), grandsons Dustin and Tyler, siblings Mary Ann (Lee) Carter, Judy (Edward) Zick, Terrance (Therese) Erickson, Candy (J. William) Butcher, Lawrence (Darla) Erickson, Jean Erickson (Mitch Franklin), Leonard (Mary Hajlo) Erickson, Beth Erickson-Quilling (John Quilling), Richard (Mickey) Erickson, numerous nieces, nephews, countless beloved friends and volunteer associates, special friend April Udvig, faithful horse Mahogany Man, dog Berne, donkey Chickadee and numerous cats.
Margaret belonged to SAG, AFTRA, Actors' Equity Unions and performed in California and St. Paul. She was a registered EEG Tech, Certified Special Olympics Coach, NARHA certified equestrian Coach. Her passion for horses was fulfilled with the acquisition of her only horse. She ran her own Special Olympics program in Ham Lake, MN with Mahogany Man, after teaching in California, where she lived for 30 years. She served as a Kinship Mentor for 4 years. Singing was a special passion, she sang with the St. Paul Community Choir; Madrigal Singer and FAME Church Choir in Los Angeles, as well as musicals in CA and MN. Her one children's book remains unpublished.
As an adopted child Margaret was blessed with the loves of two amazing families for which she is forever grateful to God. And for whom she always tried to give her best. She would like to be remembered for her humor, free spirit and trust in God.
