Obituary of Mavis Sullivan

Mavis Sullivan, 80, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at the Cambridge Medical Center. Mavis Diane Sullivan was born February 27, 1927 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Agnes (Colline) and Ernest Sullivan. The family moved to Mapleton, Oregon when Mavis was 3 years old. They returned to Cambridge, Minnesota in 1940. Mavis and her sister Lois spent time in Minneapolis where they both worked at the Grain Exchange. Mavis moved back to Cambridge where she worked at the laundry until she retired. Mavis had been a resident of the Calhoun Apartments for over 20 years where she had many close friends. Mavis' apartment was the place to go for coffee, cake, and the latest news around the apartment complex. She will be greatly missed by all of her Calhoun friends. Mavis was wonderful caring aunt, sister and friend. She spent her retirement caring for many of her friends and organizing family get-togethers. Mavis was the last of four siblings to pass away. Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers John (Jack), Richard (Dick) and sister Lois. She is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and great many friends. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to all of her "guardian angels" from the Guardian Angels Elim Home Care. Their caring hearts meant the world to Mavis and her family.
