Obituary of Daphne Pearson
Daphne Mae Pearson, 88, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at the Cambridge Health Care Center.
She was born May 1, 1919 in St. Croix Falls, WI to C. Arthur and Odessa Clara (Anderson) Johnson. She lived for a time in Moose Lake and later moved to Minneapolis where she attended school.
In 1936 she was united in marriage to Larry W. Pearson in Minneapolis. They raised their five children there and also lived in Brooklyn Center. Daphne went to work for the Sperry Rand Corporation and retired from there in the late 1960's. Larry passed away in 1984 and soon thereafter Daphne moved to Ashland Place in Cambridge and remained there until nearly to years ago when she moved to Cambridge Health Care Center.
Daphne and Larry spent many weekends fishing and picnicking with the kids. She also enjoyed baking, cooking and always had a meal ready for anyone who happened to stop by at her home. She certainly enjoyed the simple things in life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Jim, brothers Clarence, Clifford, Harold and Ralph Johnson, sister Marilyn Cunningham.
Daphne is survived by her children Ron and wife Cindy Pearson of Cambridge, Pat and husband Harlan Gafkjen of Broken Arrow, OK, Linda and husband Gary Johnson of St. Francis, Mark Pearson of St. Francis and fiancé LuAnn Gardis , 22 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, brothers Roger Johnson of Minneapolis, Dale Johnson of St. Paul, Gary Johnson of Minneapolis, sisters Carol Austin of Buffalo, Marsha of Minneapolis, Jeanette Hanson of CA, Clara Swisher of GA, and other relatives.
