Obituary of Gail Palmer
Gail Ann Palmer, 74, of Coon Rapids, formerly of Blaine and McGregor, passed away Monday March 7, 2011 at New Brighton Care Center.
She was born on March 10, 1936 to Howard and Helen (Bosch)DesSaint. Gail grew up in Minneapolis. Later the family moved to Spooner Wisconsin, where she met and married Harris Palmer on January 27, 1953. They made their home in Spooner, where they began a family. Later, in 1963 they moved to Blaine, where they continued to grow and raise their family.
Gail was employed by Lynbrook Bowl, where she was the bowling league coordinator. In 1990 she and Harris retired to their cabin in McGregor, where they lived for 10 years. They enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, socializing with friends and experiencing nature. They were both active in the McGregor Lions and Lionesses. Gail was able to put her talents in sewing and crafts to good use as the head of the Lioness craft club.
The last ten years of her life were spent in Ham Lake, Blaine, and Coon Rapids at the Homestead Assisted Living.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harris; son, Steven; parents Howard and Helen; brother, Howard DesSaint Jr. She is survived by daughter Cheryl and husband Gary Daml of Coon Rapids; son Christopher and wife Lisa Palmer of Ham Lake; grandchildren: Jeremy and Amy Daml, Brittany, Casey, and Teegan Palmer, and many more relatives and friends.
