Obituary of Gladys Norberg
Gladys Irene Norberg, 97, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, June 1, 2007 at the Grandview Christian Home.
She was born January 9, 1910 in Springvale Township, Minnesota to Erick and Anna (Anderson) Nordstrom. Gladys was baptized at the Cambridge Lutheran Church. She grew up in Springvale where she attended country school at Pine Brook. After her schooling she moved to Minneapolis and did housework for a few years.
She was united in marriage to Elias Olson in the 1930's in Minneapolis which is where they made their home. Gladys worked for many years at Honeywell and later retired from there. After Elias passed away Gladys moved to Cambridge and had a home built. While living in Cambridge Gladys met Myron "Mike" Norberg and they were married on May 9, 1986. They made their home in Cambridge and later became residents at Mill Ridge Commons. Mike passed away on April 16, 2005. Gladys had been a resident of the Grandview Christian Home.
Gladys was a member of the Cambridge Lutheran Church, she enjoyed doing needlepoint, embroidery, was a member of the Senior Bowling League, and was an excellent cook Gladys and Elias had a lake home in Litchfield and enjoyed spending time there. They also visited Norway to seek out his heritage. Gladys was a kind, gentle and loving person and will be missed by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Elias Olson, second husband Myron Norberg, sister Florence Swenson, half sister Annie Soderquist, and niece Annette Carron-Seymour.
Gladys is survived by her sister Agnes Carron of Cambridge, step children Valerie and husband Oscar Carlson of Forest Lake, Jerry and wife Jan Norberg of Cambridge, Gwen and husband Neil Anderson of Cambridge, many step grandchildren, niece Evonne Carron of Vallejo, Ca, nephew Richard and wife Karen Carron of Lakeville, great nieces Carrie Seymour of Napa Valley, CA, Laura Carron of Scottsdale, AZ, great nephew Brent Carron of Savage, as well as many other relatives and friends.
