Obituary of Ralph Neumann

Ralph George Neumann, 78, of Rush City, formerly of Columbia Heights and Maple Grove passed away peacefully on Friday, March 25, 2011 at The Villages of North Branch surrounded by his family. Ralph was born on December 6, 1932 in Columbia Heights, Minnesota to Ambrose and Mary (Scherman) Neumann. He graduated from DeLaSalle High School in 1950 and went on to attend St. Thomas University, graduating in 1961. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Ralph was a special agent with the IRS for 20 years and retired in 1982. Ralph was a kind, gentle soul with a quick wit and warm heart who made each person he met, feel special. He enjoyed reading, fishing, campfires, and telling stories. Above all, Ralph enjoyed spending time with his family; they were his pride and joy. Ralph was preceded in death by a granddaughter Amy, parents Ambrose and Mary, and brothers Elmer and Ernie. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Carol; ten children, Mary (Dennis) Zacharias, Joe (Barb) Neumann, Pat Neumann, Cindy (Bill) Swan, Julie (Jake) Bolotin, Bill (Marcy) Neumann, Laurie (Jim) Thompson, Chris (Kat) Jobanputra, Tom (Laura) Neumann, and John (Leslie) Neumann, 27 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sister Justine Cain; brothers Rod Neumann, Denny (Deanna) Neumann,; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and life-long friends.
