Dear Family of Chuck Slater: We are so sorry for your loss. We got to know Chuck as a driver for United Hardware (Dedicated Logistics). He was definitely a favorite of ours and we will miss him tremendously. I loved when he would "let" us buy him a can of Mountain Dew and a bag of chocolate covered raisins. Charles was a hard worker and lived life to the fullest. When we were kids he'd come home from work (this after working all Day) rain,snow,whatever. He'd have a big smile and his eyes would light up And he'd say who wants to have fun, fun,fun with DADDY, and we'd know we were going to be cutting wood. We'd be upset because we didn't want to cut wood. But you know now that I think about it he did not ask us to do anything he wouldn,t do himself. At work at Home or out on a Family outing. Charles smiled and laughed and he never lost his cool.I was proud to call him DAD:: Mary Susan Larson Slater.(SUSAN TO CHARLES)

Charles and Marie welcomed me into their home when I was eleven yrs. old. Little did I know that these two people would teach me everything I would ever need to know, both spiritually, physically and mentally. I was one of many foster children that they gave a home and safe haven, two things many of us did not have. We were treated as their own, no favorites. Everyone got hugs as well as slopped the pigs. I will miss Charles, Dad, very much. He had a huge heart and truly loved everyone around him as they loved him. He'll be up above making his truck sound(we all knew that noise), driving his tractors and moving his buildings but I will miss him dearly...My prayers and thoughts go out to Marie, Michael, Greg and Kelley. Love you all Char
