Obituary of Woodrow Swanson

Woodrow Carl Swanson, 92, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Cambridge Medical Center. He was born on June 16, 1918 in St. Paul, Minnesota to John and Helma (Nelson) Swanson. In 1940 Woody enlisted in the United States Army and served in World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Woody worked for several years in the United States Postal Service and after retirement farmed in the Rush Lake area. He recently had been living at River Hills. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lillian Carlson and brother John P. Swanson. Woody is survived by a nephew Russell and wife Lois Swanson of New Jersey, great nieces and nephew Jennifer, Christopher and Karin, and other relatives and friends.
