Obituary of Violet Halgrimson

Violet Josephine Halgrimson, 91, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2007at the Cambridge Medical Center. She was born on September 11, 1915 in Waukenabo Township, Aitkin County, Minnesota to Henry and Josephine (Zasmeta) Landrus. It was in Bain, MN that she attended school. Violet worked milking cows as well as housekeeping before getting a job at Montgomery Wards in Bloomington where she worked for a few years. She also worked in Lakeville for a company that manufactured pool tables. She was united in marriage to Mervin R. Halgrimson on August 22, 1936 in Hill City, Minnesota. They made their home on the property of his family's farm and later moved to Bloomington, Pine River, Lakeville, and many other areas due to his job. In the mid 1980's Merv and Violet moved to Pine Village in Cambridge and later to Happy Tracks near North Branch. Merv passed away September 16, 2005. Violet had been a resident at the Cambridge Health Care Center. Violet enjoyed crocheting, reading romance novels and doing puzzles. She was a member of the Cambridge Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by husband Mervin Halgrimson, parents Henry and Josephine Landrus, 1 sister, 1 brother. Violet is survived by sons Warren and wife Phyllis Halgrimson of Cambridge, Ken and wife Debbie Halgrimson of Cannon Falls, Mark Halgrimson of Farmington, daughter Sylvia and husband Jerry Henry of Lakeville, 12 grandchildren Terry (Dean) Higgins, Tracey Rabiola, Tammy (Don) Cunningham, Tom (Melissa) and Ty (Alicia) Halgrimson, Scott (Lynn) and Todd (Renae) Henry, Mike (Patty), Sonja, Keith, Kyle and Katelyn Halgrimson, 13 great grandchildren, and other family and friends.
