Obituary of Raymond Buerkle
Raymond Franklin Buerkle was lovingly welcomed into the arms of Jesus on June 25, 2011. He lived a very happy and full life and was ready to meet his Lord and Savior.
Ray was born in Stuttgart, Arkansas on April 13, 1919. He graduated from Stuttgart High School and served in the US Army Air Force for 8 years.
In 1950 Ray moved to Minneapolis because it seemed like a "nice Christian place to be". He worked for the Minneapolis City Engineering Department - Paving Division for most of his career.
He enjoyed various mission trips to Mexico and Latin America.
In 2006 he moved to The Commons on Marice in Eagan, MN where he enjoyed participating in many of the resident activities.
Ray especially loved music and would often unexpectedly break into singing while walking down the hall, riding in a car, sitting in the dining center or even during a doctor visit. He could put a smile on anyone's face with his delight for life and passion for even the little things that came his way.
Ray was a true example of what it means to have the joy of the Lord in his life. He spread that joy wherever he went.
He is preceded in death by parents, Wilhelm and Lenora Schuller Buerkle and siblings Gladys Ermine and William Louis Buerkle.
Ray will be dearly missed by special friends, Chad and Heidi Weiss, Greta Gustafson, the wonderful people at The Commons on Marice and many others who knew and loved him.
