Glenn George Wentworth, 80, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2007 at the Foley Nursing Center.
He was born April 15, 1927 in Bradford Township, Minnesota to Robert and Jennie (Harrington) Wentworth. He grew up in Bradford where he attended Country School and went on to graduate from Cambridge High School in 1945. After high school Glenn drove school bus as well as driving the gas truck for the Co-op.
On March 6, 1948 he was united in marriage to Margaret Mae Treichel at the Cambridge Lutheran Church parsonage. They lived in the Cambridge area until 1954 when they moved to Bradford. Glenn worked for Arcon Construction in Mora and worked on projects throughout Minnesota. In 1956 he began working for Wyatt Bros. Ready Mix and would retire in 1983 from there. In 1985 they sold the house in Bradford and moved into Cambridge.
Glenn enjoyed music and began playing in his family's orchestra, The Bob Wentworth Family Orchestra, at age seven. He played drums in the band and later learned saxophone and played in a jazz band in high school, and also was self taught on the piano. After his father quit the band, Glenn took it over and played until he was 37. Later on Glenn played with his brother Dean and then with Waldo Carlson from Rush City and played at many Senior Citizen dances. Glenn enjoyed working and helping other people and also restored many old Ford tractors. His pride and joy were his wife, home, grandchildren and the farm.
He was preceded in death by infant sisters Margaret and Donie, his parents, father and mother-in-law Iva and Albert Treichel, sister-in-law Irene (Mrs. Don) Wentworth, and brother-in-law Joseph Lindroth.
