Obituary of Steven Olson

Steve went home to be with Jesus on August 8, 2011 after battling a long term illness. Steven Shane Olson was born in Cambridge on February 17, 1962. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1980. He went on to serve in the armed forces for three years in the US Army. He was stationed in Fort Shafter, Hawaii. Steve was honorably discharged as Specialist E4 in 1984. Steve worked for Ryan Construction for many years as a Superintendent/Project Coordinator. Steve's passion was sports. He played football in high school and played softball locally and also for the Army team. He loved the Twins and the Minnesota Vikings, he had beautiful blue eyes, a wonderful sense of humor and a great love for life. He will be greatly missed by his children, family and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents Clifford and Rena Olson, Glenn Hyde, Great Grandparents Christ and Christine Heyd. Steve is survived by his parents; Floyd and Faye Olson of Isanti, three children; Britni of Arizona, Alec and Kara of Cambridge, four siblings; Shannon and wife Maria Olson of Cambridge, Sheldon and wife Jeanne Olson of Cambridge, Darla Orr of Fort Myers, Florida, Dee Dee and husband Andy Larsen of Cambridge, grandmother Ella Hyde of Cambridge, many aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
