Obituary of Gary Rosenau
Gary Wayne Rosenau, 65, of Cambridge went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at home surrounded by family.
He was born December 8, 1945 in Faribault, Minnesota to Royal and Shirley (Michel) Rosenau. The family lived in Waseca until a tragic accident that took the lives of his brother Larry and later father, Royal. After this time the family moved to Isanti where Gary spent the rest of his growing up years and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1963. It was during high school that his mother married Rev. Ezra Budke. After high school he operated gas stations in St. Paul and later Isanti.
On November 4, 1967 he was united in marriage to Virginia Hebeisen at Elim Baptist Church in Isanti. They lived in Isanti for eight years until 1975 when they moved to Cambridge.
Gary worked for the Isanti County Co-op Hardware for 22 years and the past 15 years at the Cambridge Lutheran Church, retiring in May of this year due to his health.
He was a member of the Cambridge Lutheran Church, always willing to help out whenever and wherever needed, especially at the annual Lutefisk suppers. He enjoyed traveling, outdoor activities, collecting model cars, attending car shows, music. Gary had a wonderful sense of humor and always enjoyed making people laugh. We will certainly miss his way to make people laugh and his vast knowledge of many things.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step father, brother Larry, and step brother Rev. Mel Budke. Gary is survived by his wife Ginnie of Cambridge, children Brian and wife Mindy Rosenau of Cambridge, Lisa Rosenau of Cambridge, Chris Rosenau of New Brighton, sisters Dori and husband Michael Warner of Chicago, IL, Genie and husband Floyd Hackett of Roseville, Betty and husband Evan Warden of Grand Prairie, Alberta, brother Ken Rosenau of Orlando, FL, best friend and brother-in-law Doug and wife Karen Brellenthin of Cambridge, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
