Thank you for the beautiful insights into Virgel's life. I remember a moment when I was a new staff member at FBC, attending a board (or congregational?) meeting when Virgel spoke to an issue with great wisdom. I thought to myself, "Yes, this is the place for me." He and Elaine provide great memories of support and friendship. You come from "good stock"--two parents of mature faith and simply good people. May your period of grief be well balanced between the sense of loss and of good memories.
