LaVonne Anderson

Obituary of LaVonne E. Anderson

LaVonne Eloise Anderson passed away peacefully at the J. A. Wedum Residential Hospice Home on Friday, July 10, 2015, at the age of 77. LaVonne was born to Andrew Severin and Anna Wilhelmina (Oman) Norberg on December 14, 1937 in rural Isanti County where she lived most of her life. LaVonne went to Cambridge Schools through eighth grade. Her family moved to Spring Lake near North Branch where she graduated from North Branch High School in 1955. LaVonne worked as secretary at Northwestern Bank in northeast Minneapolis and as an office clerk in the military prior to her marriage. She married Marvin Raynold Anderson November 28, 1959, and they built a home near Grandy in 1963. In 1965, they opened the Anderson’s K.O. Service, their family-run service station/towing business, in Cambridge. They would later rent U-Hauls for 25 years and then Ryder Rentals for 10 years. They also enjoyed farming in their spare time. LaVonne worked for about 18 years at the People’s Café in Cambridge as a server and for 19 years she worked at the Cambridge Medical Center, most often in the registration department. LaVonne enjoyed being involved in activities with her children. She was a 4-H leader for the Hi-Lites 4-H club, a Girls Meeting God Leader and Sunday School teacher at Stanchfield Baptist Church where she especially liked working with the special needs children at church. In her “senior” years she enjoyed many of the activities at Stanchfield Baptist Church with her friends there. She also loved getting together with co-workers on many outings. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren as they participated in many activities. Some special memories they have were Easter egg hunts, family hayrides, hanging May baskets and visiting them on Halloween. She especially loved watching and being involved with the Flat Track Motorcycle races held locally. She will be greatly missed.
