Obituary of Louise C. Hipp
Louise C. Hipp, 91, of Cambridge, formerly of New Brighton passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West.
She was born on July 23, 1924 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Thomas and Lona (Hickey) Chance. Louise grew up in Vernon, Texas where she attended grade school and graduated from high school.
On February 2, 1945 she was united in marriage to Edwin Hipp in Paris, Texas and soon after moved to New Brighton, MN to the Hipp family farm (Lakeside Berry Farm). They would raise their four children in New Brighton. On April 9, 1963, Louise and Edwin divorced and she moved off the farm. She worked for several years at Land-O-Lakes. She lived for a time in New Brighton, Roseville and she spent the last 13 years in Cambridge.
Louise was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in New Brighton. She was also involved with the New Brighton VFW, New Brighton Eagle Auxiliary #3718 and Eagle REAC Senior Club, St. Ann Society at St. John The Evangelist Church, New Brighton Historical Society, and the Holy Family Guild at Little Sisters of The Poor. While living in Cambridge she attended Christ The King Catholic Church.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, rug looming, painting, cross country skiing, golfing and square dancing. Louise loved to plan parties and was always the one you could ask if you needed help with advice.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Winston and Johnny Chance, sister Madge Rich, daughter Judy Hockert and daughter-in-law Connie Hipp. She is survived by her children Jim (Merideth) Hipp of East Bethel, Tom Hipp (Colleen Javes) of Ham Lake, Patty Pavel (John Huot) of North St. Paul, son-in-law Mike Hockert (MaryAnn Cleary) of Cambridge, 11 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, sister Lucille Webb of DeBerry, TX, as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
