Obituary of Diane C. Nahring

Diane Clarice Nahring, 71, of Crown passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital. She was born on August 31, 1944 in Minneapolis, MN to Bertil and Clarice (Holm) Stigsell. The family lived in Spring Lake Park until 1947 when they moved to a farm near Long Lake in Isanti County. Diane graduated from Cambridge High School in 1962 and went on to beauty school in Minneapolis. She was a hairdresser for many years, working in a local shop and always took care of doing hair for her whole family. On July 6, 1963 she was united in marriage to Fred Nahring at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti. They lived a short time in Anoka before moving to the Crown area and in 1967 they bought a farm just north of Crown and raised their three children there. After all the kids were in school, Diane worked at Hierlinger’s Shoe Store in Princeton, Lustra Silk Hair Products, Dow Brand Chemical, Culver’s in Elk River and Kohl’s at Riverdale. Diane was a longtime active member of Zion Lutheran Church of Crown where she was involved with the Ladies Aide, and cooked turkeys for their annual Turkey Dinner. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, camping, fishing, shopping, watching gameshows, going out for breakfast, and attending her grandchildren’s activities. She was preceded in death by her parents. Diane is survived by her husband Fred, children Shelly and husband Rick Moss of Big Lake, David and wife Sharla Nahring of Ogilvie, Lisa and husband Mike Schaaf of Blaine, nine grandchildren Anthony, Adam and Aleesha Moss, Samantha, Cassandra, Cheyanne and Shania Nahring, Katelyn and Niklas Schaaf, great granddaughter Haily VanderPlaats, brother Dwayne and wife Darlene Stigsell of Tucson, AZ, as well as several other relatives and friends.
