Obituary of Norman Dexter Shaw

Norman Dexter Shaw, age 78 of Cambridge, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the J.A. Wedum Hospice Home in Brooklyn Park on November 27, 2015. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sandra. He is survived by his children Susan Shaw, Laura (Doug) Ringwelski, Sarah Shaw, and Patrick (Kristin) Shaw. He is the proud grandfather of Tyler Wedlund-Shaw, Logan Shaw, Jenna Shaw, Peter Ringwelski, Thomas Ringwelski, and Christian Ringwelski. He is survived by his sister Eleanor (Tony) Galdek and his his brother Lawrence (Hazel) Shaw. Norman was a long-time employee with FMC in Fridley where he worked many long hours to provide for his family. Norman was generous with both his time and his finances. Generosity towards his family brought Norman great joy. He was the owner of "Norm's Antiques and Classic Auto Parts" and proudly served the Iola Swap Meet for more than 30 years. Norman and his family loved to camp in the BWCA, visit national parks, and attend the "Back to the 50's" car show at the MN State Fairgrounds. Norman lived with his wife and children in North Branch in a wooded lot that he tirelessly cleared after work. The home Norman built in the woods was a wonderful hobby farm with animals, a playground, several tree forts, gardens, and buildings for auto work and woodworking which provided many fond memories for the family. In the last years Norman and Sandra lived together in senior housing in Cambridge, MN.
