Obituary of Jodi Lynn Nelson

Jodi Lynn Nelson, age 38 of Minneapolis, formerly of Cambridge, passed away peacefully at her home in Minneapolis on Thursday, January 7, 2016. Jodi was an adventurous free spirit. Despite her disability, she was a spit-fire. She enjoyed drawing, writing, Saturday family day with all of her friends and family and long walks on the “loop” in the summer. Jodi was the poster child for MDA and she also attended Camp Courage with the MDA for many years and excitedly looked forward to camp every year. She was a cheerleader at Cambridge High school for the wrestling squad and an avid trainer for Helping Paws Service Animal Group. Jodi was also an Honor Student at Rasmussen College. Jodi is preceded in death by her grandmother Caroline Kunshier, grandfather Lloyd Kunshier, grandparents Gerald (Shirley) Matteson, grandpa Fuhol; uncle Simon Kunshier; and her faithful service dogs Maggie May and Juni. She is survived by her parents Pamela (Michael) Matteson; grandma Anna Fuhol; siblings Gerri (Kevin) Paulson, Jenae (William) Hebb, JoLynn (Robert) Safack, Joshua Fuhol, Jared Fuhol, Renae (David) Brown, Michael (Jenny) Ramacher, Teresa (Frank) Gonzalez; aunt and uncle Gloria and James Kimlinger, uncle Doug and aunt Tara (Noah and Cassandra) Casey; nieces and nephews Mackenzie and Madison Hebb, Cameron and Abigail Safack, Brianna, Ashya, Nicolas, Anthony and Zachary Gonzalez and many, many friends. Jodi was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
