Obituary of Babette Siewert
Babette Bond Siewert, 79, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at the Cambridge Health Care Center.
She was born May 25, 1928 in Elkins, West Virginia to Guy and Chloe (Jaques) Bond. Babette grew up in the Charleston, West Virginia area and attended school there.
On October 14, 1944 she was united in marriage to Henry Siewert in Baltimore, Maryland and to this union four children were born. The family lived in many areas throughout the United States and also spent some time in Germany because of Henry's career in the U.S. Army. Henry and Babette entertained; playing piano, singing and dancing for the Non Commissioned Officers Clubs in the military.
Babette lived in Ohio until about ten years ago when she moved to Cambridge to be near her daughter. She was cared for by Rose Harder for a few years and in 2000 she became a resident at the Cambridge Health Care Center.
She enjoyed dancing, singing, spending time with and caring her family. She loved life and had a smile that could light up the room and would make everyone smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, son Henry, daughter Christine Tardiff, sister Daisy Hauser and brother Thomas Bond.
Babette is survived by her daughters Geri and husband Ray Anton of Cambridge, Barbara Denney of Potsdam, NY, nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister Eva Mae White of Surfside, SC, as well as other relatives and many friends at the Cambridge Health Care Center. A special thank you to the caring friends and staff at the Cambridge Health Care Center.
