After retiring, she enjoyed doing volunteer work for many years at Cambridge Lutheran Church and the Shalom Thrift Shop and whenever anybody needed help. She was a member of Cambridge Lutheran Church, the Lydia Circle, and the American Legion V.F.W. Auxiliary.
