Obituary of Warren B. Solem

Warren Bruce Solem, 83, of Cambridge died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at his home. He was born on April 15, 1933 in Forest Lake, MN to Elmer and Sarah Solem. Warren attended school in Forest Lake. In 1950 he joined the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. On May 24, 1958 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Jean Renner and they had two sons, Dale and Jeffrey. Warren worked for Amoco Oil and in 1970 the family moved to Cambridge. He retired from Amoco Oil in 1988. He is survived by his sons Dale Solem of Golden Valley, and Jeffrey Solem of Cambridge, brother Edward Solem of Port Charlotte, FL, sister Emmadell Jasperson of North St. Paul. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis, brother Elmer Solem Jr., sisters Nellie Solem and Doris Thorp. Warren had requested there to be no formal service and his ashes be buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
