Obituary of Mary C. Dunbar
Mary C. Dunbar, 82, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at her daughter’s home.
Mary was born on August 2, 1933 in Milaca, MN to Donald and Eleanor (Olson) Sundberg. She grew up in Cambridge where she attended school and graduated from Cambridge High School. Mary went on to attend Hamline University and earned a degree in Nursing.
On August 13, 1954 she was united in marriage to Phillip Dunbar and together they had three children. They lived in Minnesota, Iowa, and Maryland and moved back to Cambridge in 1968.
Mary worked as a nurse for several years at the Cambridge Clinic, retiring from there in 1981. She enjoyed golfing and was a member of Purple Hawk Golf Course, playing in the women’s league for many years.
Mary was preceded in death by her son Paul, husband Phillip, sister Loretta Sundberg and her parents.
Mary is survived by her children Keri (Tom) Sahlmen, and Jon (Deanna) Dunbar; daughter-in-law Nancy Dunbar; grandchildren Alyssa (Scott) Haugen, Britne (Zachary) Engelking, Mitchell, Joe, Peter, Aaron, and Evan Dunbar; great grandchildren Quintin, Qhloe and Nate Engelking; Beckett Haugen. Also survived by her brother Robert (Rita) Sundberg and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A Private Memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials preferred to Salvation Army.
