Obituary of Jeffrey J. Guimond

Jeffrey John Guimond, 59, of East Bethel passed away after a brave battle with kidney cancer on Friday, May 20, 2016 at his home. He was born on December 24, 1956 in Minneapolis, MN to Arthur and Delores (Pribyl) Guimond. Jeff grew up in Isle, MN where his father owned Agate Bay Resort on Mille Lacs Lake. He graduated from Isle High School in 1975. After high school he began working road construction and continued for several years. On May 5, 1979 he was united in marriage to Jayne Anderson at Stevanger Lutheran Church near Fergus Falls. They had two children Corey and Anissa. They made their home in Golden Valley, Chaska and Coon Rapids before moving to East Bethel in 1994. In 1985 Jeff opened Guimond Auto Services from his garage in Coon Rapids, later moving the business to Andover. In 1993 he relocated to Isanti and worked along with his son Corey until the Fall of 2015. Jeff loved to watch Sci-Fi and Action movies on television, going to antique sales looking for tools and books, working on cars and was a Ford man his whole life. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Renee Hambrick, and granddaughter Summer Beaman. Jeff is survived by his wife Jayne, son Corey of East Bethel, daughter Anissa and husband James Beaman of Stanchfield, two granddaughters Haylea and Linsey Beaman, brothers Steven (Donna) Guimond of Maple Grove, Tim (Kalena) Guimond of Blaine, sisters Becky (Brian) Alexander of Bay Port, MI, Betty (Les) Haglund of Zimmerman, nephews Trenten Haglund of Isle, Tanner Haglund of Mankato, and nieces Jena Guimond and Kelsey Guimond of Coon Rapids, as well as other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
