Jim was like a member of our Bismarck family. I remember well when we met and approved of Barb after their correspondence. Even though I was only like age 10 at the time, we all knew it would take someone special to take the heart of Jim. When the babies started coming, Barb and Jim entrusted my Grandma Myrtle and I with caring for their first two children, Donna and Susan. Sue was only 2 weeks old when I watched her for the first time. I felt so privileged! They treated me so well, I remember their generosity! I still remember the sweater that they gave me for Christmas. It was my favorite sweater! As we had family losses, it was Barb (and family) that was quick to be there with food and heart felt condolences. She always had that way about her!
