Obituary of Vera D. Osborne

Vera D. Osborne of Cambridge, MN died on August 22nd, 2016, at home surrounded by her family at 90 years of age. Vera was born on May 4, 1926 to Nels and Gertrude Jenson in Flaxton, ND. She grew up on a farm with 5 sisters. She attended school in both Flaxton and Northgate, ND. She married her childhood sweetheart D. John Osborne on June 5th, 1945 in Plentywood, Montana. They raised 4 children. As a young girl she was very involved in horses with her father. She rode as a jockey at horse races in North Dakota and Canada. Horses were a life long passion for her and John as they raised horses and raced them at Canterbury Park and they shared that passion with their children. Vera was involved in church as a Sunday school teacher, bible study, 4-H and Girl Scouts. As a family they lived in Bowbells, ND, Springfield, OR, Blaine, MN and settled in Cambridge, MN where they shared their love of country living and the joys of having animals. She is survived by her husband John, and her daughter (in-law) Sandy Osborne, son Jack (Julie) Osborne, son Rick (Joyce) Osborne of Cambridge and daughter Roxann McCain of Lonsdale, MN; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, son John Nels Osborne, son-in-law Christopher McCain, granddaughter Rochelle Osborne, sisters; Evelyn (Dwight) Burke, Leora (Hank) Rawn, Inez (Willard) Swenson, Ilene (Harland) Knight and Patty (Bob) Dickson. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 1pm to 4pm at the family farm.
