Knickerbocker Family. So sorry to hear of passing of Adeline. ( My Best Friend Tom's Mom, of who I have shamefully not been keeping good contact) I am old family friend. Spent many sleep overs as a kid. Have great memories of her and her kindness. Condolences to you Don (Sir), Tom, Jimmie and Sharon. I pray for all of your families comfort and peace. Knowing she is with the Lord. She left a great impression on this Kid ( now 55 years old) Bless, Memory Eternal.

We are devastated as we are sure the rest of you are. Our hearts go out especially to you, Donny, Tom, Jimmy, and Sherry as you struggle with this loss.
All we have now are memories, and the surety of Resurrection Morning when those who believe in our Lord will be raised and reunited with loved ones forever. Meanwhile, we will all miss her...
But, those memories are good! Adeline was always very friendly and welcoming to me, tho I came late to the family. We enjoyed two visits from Donnie and Adeline on jaunts they made out west here. Two years ago we visited Minnesota and had several lovely days with them, some good laughs and talks. She gave me some favorite family recipes, too! We tried to speak frequently by phone many times over the years.
I was always struck by Adeline's staunch faith, and have to tell you her faith was an inspiration to me. She never complained, and I so admired her for her steadfastness in her afflictions!
This morning in my personal devotions, I was reading in Habakkuk. His beautiful declaration of trust in spite of a hard life made me think of Adeline, and I thanked God for this message of peace and gladness. Habakkuk said "Yet will I trust in the Lord, I will take joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, and He has made my feet like the deer's, and makes me walk on my high places. (Hab 3: 18-19). David, in his trials, also expressed similar feelings in the Psalms.
Adeline also exemplified Romans 5: 3-5 where Paul tells us that we can exult in our tribulations, knowing it brings about perseverance, character, and hope, which opens us to God's power through the Holy Spirit to rejoice in God's love for us.
Adeline had that confidence in God's love and it overflowed into faith through her unending trials. She was an example to us, and must have prayed Dear Father, strengthen me by Your Holy Spirit so I may rest in Your salvation."
So now, Adeline, we rejoice with you, that you can rest and awaken to perfect health and strength and joy in that Great day.
