Obituary of Ronald G. "Ole" Olson

Ronald “Ole” G. Olson age 87 of Cambridge, passed away peacefully at GracePointe Crossing Gables East on September 10, 2017.  He was surrounded and comforted by his family at his time of passing.

Ronald grew up in the Cambridge, Isanti county area.  He attended Cambridge school and later finished his schooling at Moody country school.  While at school, Ronald worked at Anderson Drug.  After graduating, he worked at various jobs in the Twin Cities. Upon moving back home, Ronald worked for  Marlow Zwiers, Pure Oil  and later Gillespie Motors of Cambridge, receiving numerous awards from Chevrolet and Oldsmobile. He retired after 42 ½ years of hard, but satisfying work, to enjoy life.

Ronald “Ole” was married November 12, 1949 to Loretta Lindell at his parent's home in Cambridge, MN.  He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Weber, where he was baptized and confirmed on July 19, 1950.  After retirement, he worked  for Pete Iten and later John Hirsch Cambridge Motors.  He especially loved spending time in his vegetable garden, raising many prize winning MN State Fair awards and ribbons of excellence.

When Ronald wasn’t in his garden, he like to visit his friends and residents at GracePointe Crossing East and West Gables.  He played cards, enjoyed woodworking and making lawn ornaments, bowling, hunting and fishing in the local area. 

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lydia (nee Bergstrom) Olson; Granddaughter Mindy Olson; siblings Myrtle Dalzen, Leonard Olson, Frances Edwards, Charles Olson, Helen Olson,  Jean Lois Gallagher and Bertha Mageria.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 67 years, Loretta; children Susan (Gary) Scheff of Harris, MN., Michael (Jeanne) Olson of Isanti, MN., and Larry (Gail) Olson of Braham, MN.

Proud Grandfather of;Daniel Scheff, Deanna Scheff, Lori (Larry) Norvitch, Ryan (Alisha)Olson, Kyle Olson, Derrick (Kelli) Olson and Kelsy Colliander. and 11 Great-Grandchildren. 

Also survived by his sister Beatrice (Glen) Lundeen of North Branch, MN.
