Obituary of Joyce A. "Jo" Oleson

Joyce A. “Jo” Oleson (Ericson), age 92, formerly of Cambridge/Isanti, passed on December 10, 2017 in Edina, MN. 

            Jo was born in Stanchfield to Victor and Hilda Ericson. She attended school in Stanchfield, Braham and graduated from Cambridge High School. She graduated from the Bethesda School of Nursing in 1947.

            She married Neal Oleson of Isanti on October 29, 1949 at Cambridge Lutheran Church. Jo worked for 30 years as an RN for Drs. Berglund and Coleman at the Cambridge Clinic. After her retirement, she and Neal moved to Bella Vista, AR in 1988, where she resided until 2003, when she moved back to Cambridge. She enjoyed golfing, gardening and bird watching.

            Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Oleson, her parents, siblings Mae Anderson, Roderick Ericson, Hazel Ericson, Woodrow Erickson, Helen Meyer, Margaret Swanson, Dean Ericson, Bette Nelson and Jean Moline.

            She is survived by daughters Mary Jo (David) Hiles (Stafford, VA), Deb Oleson (Vadnais Heights), Pam (Steve) Kremer (Minneapolis), grandchildren John (Dawn) Hiles (Republic, MO), Katie (James) Eustis (Alexandria, VA), Kristen and Leah Kremer (Minneapolis), great-grandchildren Owen and Henry Eustis, Charlotte Hiles and many nieces and nephews.

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Cambridge Lutheran Church or Faith Lutheran Church (Isanti).  The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to York Gardens Comfort Care and Fairview Hospice.

A Memorial Service will be held at Noon on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Cambridge Lutheran Church, with visitation at 11 am and a luncheon following the service. Interment will be in the Isanti Union Cemetery.
