JoAnne, Gary and I are sending are condolences to you and your family. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We were on vacation last week and I did not find out about Dan until I was having lunch at work at Riverhills with the memory unit on Tuesday. If we would of known we would of attended the funeral. I heard you had lots of friends and family for support. I would like to give you this poem that a good friend of mine wrote, who passed away last week and his funeral was on Monday. MISS ME--BUT LET ME GO. When I come to end of the road And the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little--but not to long And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me--but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take And each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan, A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart Go to the friends we know And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. MISS ME--BUT LET ME GO! JoAnn and family: Such a loss and grief...yet such a relief and joy to know you will see Dan again and that he has no pain. Balancing the two "ief"s can be challenging, and unique for each individual. I always appreciated his friendly support around church. May you experience all of God's comfort and that of all the people around you in this time.

I so grieve Dan's passing but know Dan fought hard and strong and because of faith in the Lord it was never a losing battle! My memories of Dan were the many boat trips he and my dad(Lee) organized for our families to enjoy a day of boating around one of the local lakes, swimming lessons when I was a kid where I got water up my nose to many times to count because Dan always challenged our fears of the water and Many weekend days at the Crocker home enjoying again the lake! Thanks so much Dan and family for those memories!
