I have soooo many fond memories of fishing with Jim and Del on opening day at Fish Lake. And then, enjoying the fruit of our labor at the " fish fry" at Marcie and Aldie's.

I enjoyed many days and nights at the Berg Farm where many memories were made. Many nights on the front porch, many bear sightings, and the fun of sneaking through the field from my Aunt's house to go visit was always great adventures. Grandpa Lyle and Grandma Loretta always had one of us grandchildren to tag along with them to go visit Uncle Jim! He will truly be missed!!
In my childhood, we'd drive to Minnesota from Utah each summer. I treasure the times I spent with my MN family and visiting the farm was always my favorite. I remember playing cards at the kitchen table, the dark wood throughout and recall that house growing smaller as the years passed. Jim is connected to every memory I have of the farm house I love so much. I love Jim's smile, I can still hear his distinct voice. He is a loving man who had such a good sense of humor. It has been so long since I last saw him and makes me so sad that I won't have that chance when I next visit MN.
I'm so sorry for your loss Paul. Both of your parents are amazing people who touched so many lives. Your dad will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. I am hugging you! ❤
When I was a kid and we visited the farm, I had a huge crush on Jim. It did not register to my young heart, that he was married to Laural at the time. I didn't want to go home. I wanted to stay with Jim. He was so quiet and smiley and sweet to me. Of course Laural was the epitome of good humor about the whole thing. Every single visit.
I am very glad I have those wonderful memories of Jim Berg.
So sorry for your loss Paul.
