Dear Shannon, Brandi and Kim, I was so sorry to hear that your Dad passed away. I would have been at the funeral if I had known. He was such aa nice man. When I lived in "Goldenwood" I would walk by your home and he would yell out "Hello Cous" (cousin)...I would stop and talk with him many times. We had wonderful visits. "The Kubat Family" -- My regrets for your loss. Doug and I competed against each other in athletics, in High School, and then Doug and I served together while in the Army. We were drafted at the same time and were together from the time of induction, at the Federal Bldg. in Mpls, to the many months we counted off while serving in Kentucky, at Fort Campbell. We were together for nearly two years before I was reassigned. Doug was a great friend and we shared many terrific times, and some not so wonderful experiences -- the military at times was exasperating (to say the least). However, we shared those times, good and bad, and enjoyed & endured them all through our friendship. Again, I regret your loss but was glad to read of all the positive aspects in Doug's legacy, throughout his life. Part of that legacy will be for me, the memories I have of how our lives entwined for that moment, and for that...I know my life has been much better, for have known his spirit. God bless all of you!
