Obituary of Aurora Denis

Aurora Wilhelmina Denis, 96, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West. She was born October 26, 1915 in Spring Vale Township, Minnesota the youngest of 12 children to Eric and Anna (Danielson) Olson. Aurora grew up in Spring Vale. She was baptized as a young girl in Spring Vale Creek. She attended country school in Spring Vale and graduated from Cambridge High School. After graduating she worked as a nurse's aide in Minneapolis and Cambridge most of her adult life. In 1952 she was united in marriage to Clarence Moore and he passed away in 1967. She lived in Cambridge since 1967 and on June 8, 1977 she married Steve Denis. They made their home in Cambridge and he passed away in March 2005. Aurora was a member of Spring Vale Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and DVBS in her younger years. The past several years she had been a member of First Baptist Church in Cambridge. She spent the last years of her life at Grandview Christian Home/GracePointe Crossing Gables West. Aurora was always the "Auntie" never the "Mother" and enjoyed her role as auntie and later being step-mother and grandmother to Steve's family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Clarence Moore and Steve Denis, siblings Oliver (Cora) Olson, Carl (Rose) Olson, Edward (Mary) Olson, Roy Olson, Eva (Hilding) Moline, Arnold (Esther) Olson, Victor Olson, Victoria (Sig) Olson, Evelyn (Arthur)Doble, Anna (Erik) Ek, Ellen Doble, nine nieces and nephews. Aurora is survived by step children Orlo (Joann) Eklebery of Rush City, Lyle (Arlene) Eklebery of Phoenix, AZ, Mona Rae (Don) Larson of Maple Grove, as well as their entire families of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are special niece Margarette (Clarence) LaBeau of Isanti who was like Aurora and Clarence's extended family; spending holidays with them, and numerous other nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed by all.
