I mainly saw Jackie in the hallways or waiting for an elevator at Abbott-Northwestern hospital where I serve as Catholic priest chaplain. Our exchanges were mainly "small talk" but Jackie radiated and warmth with a sunny smile. Seeing Jackie was always a day brightener!
Sincere condolences for your loss. Comfort can be found by turning to God. Psalm 9:9 says God will become a secure height for anyone crushed. A secure height in times of distress. There is also the promise that soon death will be no more (Revelation 21:3,4), and Acts 24:15 holds out the hope of the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in death. May this bring you some comfort at this time.
I knew Jackie as a warm and caring person with a ready smile for everyone she met or passed in the hallway as she performed her daily duties at work. On especially busy days, that ray of sunshine was so uplifting that it always made things better. She will be missed by many, including me. BonnieSue RN
