Ask my 5 year old son who is "best buddy" is and without missing a beat the answer has been the same for the past 3 years... "Roy". We miss you already, Roy. We were his neighbors in Isanti since he moved here a few years ago, and James was glued to his hip from day one when the weather warmed up enough to play outside. Roy was always so generous and kind to my my husband, me, and especially my kids. Yes, with treats like gumdrops and cookies ready on occasion, but most of all with his time and attention. I will miss our long driveway conversations. He and my daughter connected this past year as well, as she happens to be the same age James was when we met Roy few years ago, and she can talk up a storm. We are going to greatly miss his down to earth personality, stories, his old-school values and appreciation of the important things in life. We stayed in contact after he moved a couple months ago across town. Visiting him in his apartment with no toys or cartoons on, and my kids still had so much fun for two hours or so just being with Roy. Our hearts will always hold a special place for my 5-year-old son's "best buddy" Roy. He will never be forgotten, and I will say, my heart finds tremendous comfort knowing he is at peace in Heaven, with his beloved wife of over 50 years, Corrine, who I know he missed so much. Our condolences to the family and friends of Roy! We are so thankful for the past few years having Roy be that trusted and kind neighbor that was like no other. ~Lori, Andy, James and Abriana Haigh~
