Judy, Larry and I were so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. Having experienced that loss ourselves we understand how hard it is to have that bond broken. It seems she lived a very full life, and lived it well. And I hope that, and the fact that all suffering is over, gives you some comfort. My cousin Jean was very special to me. A few times when I went to Minneapolis, I drove to Cambridge to see her. We always had nice visits. As of late I remember Jean coming to my mothers' 100 birthday party. She and Roxanne drove over 400 miles, through a snow storm, to get there. That evening was full of story telling and since it is the last time I saw her I'll hold the fond memories of her in my heart forever. My mom is Norma Erdmann, sister to Freida Kapfer-Jean's mom.

My first bonding experience with my mother-in-law was shortly after Glen and I started dating. We stopped In at the farm and Jean was baking chocolate chip cookies. I absolutely needed a pinch of dough and begged her for some. Of course she obliged, and if my memory is accurate, she joined me in eating the raw cookie dough. After a few giggles, she said to Glen, "I like that girl!" I love that memory, and heard Jean repeat it many times. Jean, you will be missed. Love, Jane.
