Ryan and Jodi's Baby It had a beating heart, two arms and two legs, a perfect face, a perfectly formed body and a personality yet unseen. It was Ryan and Jodi's baby It had a loving Father and Mother a warm place, a promising future, With the wonder of nature, a giggle & cry unheard a hope to go to kindergarten. It was Ryan and Jodi's baby It had a plan, a life, a million things to see and do. It would have had a strong kick, and looked like Dad and Mom. It was Ryan and Jodi's baby It had a family, Ryan, Jodi, Brittany, and Bryce, it had a home, it had lots of baby things waiting, that will now go unused, and are stained with tears. It was Ryan and Jodi's baby. It had a connection, It had Ryan and Jodi, it had Brittany and Bryce. It had a name It was Blaine James Zak. It was Ryan and Jodi's baby. Five lives together, five people linked forever, torn from their happiness, taken too soon, Blaine lives in their hearts forever. Blaine was "THEIR" baby. Love Always...Grandpa & Grandma Holland

Happy 1st Birthday in Heaven - Blaine, It is hard to believe it's been a year since I held you in my arms. You were such a precious gift from God. You were the size of Grandma's hand. It was amazing all your features were perfect. You had two eyes, two tiny ears, a nose & mouth. You had ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes. You were truly a miracle. You were surrounded by family that loved you. Mom, Dad, Brittany & Bryce - Dad was so proud of you & Bryce said "now I'll have to wait till I get to heaven to play football with my brother." Mom and Brittany's eyes were filled with so much love. Mom, Dad, Brittany, Bryce, Grandma, Julie, Tally, Tyla & Jori took turns holding you. Uncle Jeff, Randy and Grandpa were also there. Pastor Zellers came to the hospital and baptized you, you used the same baptism blanket that Brittany, Bryce, Tyla & Jori used for their baptism. We were all heart broken that we weren't going to see you grow up, but we know you are in a better place. I am so, so glad I got to hold you, I wouldn't trade our time together for anything. Ryan, Jodi, Brittney and Bryce, My heart truly aches for all of you. As you know my husband and I lost our son Zachary a little over a year ago. Our losses are very different but yet they are similar. It is a loss that few will ever understand no matter how much you explain the loss to them...it is also a loss that you never want anyone else to understand. After we lost Zachary my husband and I learned a new "normal". This new "normal" does include tears but it also includes smiles. In the many support groups, parent connections and Retreat Centers we attended after Zach died we learned one thing and that was to cry when you want to and need to cry and laugh when you want to and need to laugh. This has gotten us through many sad and lonely days. Please never hesitate to call or e-mail me. I am here to talk or just listen. Ryan & Jodi - I know you don't know me - but I wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I too lost my baby moments after birth - and I wish there was something I could tell you take your pain away. I do know that time does heal all wounds - and that while it seems impossible today - there will come a day where you smile again - and where life seems "normal" again.
