Obituary of Ted Eerdmans

Theodore Dallas "Ted" Eerdmans, 69, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at GracePointe Crossing �" West. He was born December 2, 1938 in Pease, Minnesota to Theodore E. and Hazel (Ziedema) Eerdmans. Ted grew up in the Pease area where he attended grade school at the Christian school and graduated from Milaca High School in 1956. After graduation his family moved to Cambridge and Ted began working at Honeywell. On August 27, 1960 Ted was united in marriage to Nancy Rice at the First Baptist Church in Cambridge. The couple lived in Coon Rapids for five years before returning to Cambridge where they purchased a home and raised their three children. Ted later worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, starting out as a lineman. He worked for the phone company for over thirty years and retired in 1997 as a Qwest central office technician. In 1977 Ted took a bicycle trip to International Falls and fell in love with bicycle riding, a passion that took him on tours over the entire United States as well as Scandinavia, including an ocean to ocean trip across the U.S.A. Ted was a long time active member of the First Baptist Church in Cambridge, and a member of ROTAS Bike Club. He also enjoyed cross country skiing. He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his wife Nancy of Cambridge, children Ned and wife Margie Eerdmans of Fergus Falls, Jill Eerdmans of Preston, Neil and wife Belinda Eerdmans of Champlin, five grandchildren, mother Hazel Eerdmans of Cambridge, brother Robert and wife Ann Eerdmans of Isanti, sisters Marilyn and husband George Ryon of Blaine, Mary Manselle of Annandale, Beth Ann and husband Nathan Dietsche of Eau Claire, WI, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
