I will always remember uncle Roger as the ultimate "man's man". He had a passion for the outdoors and all things associated with it. I can remember the times our family merged with his to hang out at his cabin. The place would be full of life (12 kids combined). It was funny to hear him share his "tricks for catching fish". One time he explained that you had to "wake the fish up". He then proceeded to slap the surface of the water with a canoe paddle (an old Indian trick). Whether it be dumb luck or knowledge, my next cast I catch a good size Norther Pike! He was my hero right then. I have been blessed to live currently live in Aspen, Colorado. When I've gone on one of many mountan bike rides, I often think of those days at Roger's cabin and how much he loved to entertain and share his love of the outdoors. He will be missed. May God bless him.

Roger gave me a job working at the Isanti County Fair when I was in 4-H. He was on the fair board and he knew farm kids didn't have much money so he let us work for him while we were at the fair with our cattle. It's little things like this that you never forget. He was a great man!

Norma and family, We are all so sorry to hear of Roger's passing. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. We will be there for you. The memories we created when we were 'younger' came flooding back last night after I heard the news. The Italian dinners Norma cooked for everyone and especially the fun, fun times we spent at your cabin years ago. And what fun it was with your bunch of kids and our tribe. Norma and family-We are so sorry for your loss. Know that we are and always will be thinking of you. We have many memories to talk about and remember, the most recent being the Craft Fair in Buffalo!
