Obituary of Richard Tuset

Richard John Tuset (Rick) was born on July 11, 1958 at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, MN to Harold and Constance (Groettum) Tuset. He attended school in Santa Maria, CA and Rosemount MN and graduated High School from Rosemount Senior High in June of 1976. He received his AA degree from Normandale Community College and attended the University of Minnesota where he pursued studies towards a BA in criminology. He was baptized in Richfield and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Apple Valley, MN. Rick was always adventuresome and enjoyed rock climbing, hiking, sky-diving, and traveled whenever he could. He enjoyed animals and had fish, cats and dogs as pets and most recently three goats. Rick was above average when it came to cooking and was very much at home in the kitchen or at the grill. Ever since he was a young boy Rick wanted to become a "police" so it is not surprising that Rick spent the majority of his work years in security and law enforcement. He worked for Abbot Northwestern Hospital, Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, Dept of Homeland Security, and BAE Systems. He was very proud of the time he spent as a deputy sheriff. A year ago in June of 2008 he moved to California where he was waiting for a security position at the casino in Valley Center. His mother, Constance, preceded Rick in death in 1995. He is survived by his son, Nathan Tuset of Mound, MN; father Harold (Anne) Tuset of Cambridge, MN; brother Daniel (Lisa) Tuset of Blaine, MN; brother Michael Tuset of St. Cloud, MN; step-sister Kristi Gamer (John) of Blaine, MN; and his ex-wife, Jeanna Marko of Coon Rapids, MN
