Obituary of Danine Fitzgerald

Danine Joy (Krinke) Fitzgerald, 51, of Maplewood, formerly of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 after a 2 year courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 24, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Elwin Gene and Joan (Stadin) Krinke. She was baptized at Calvary Lutheran Church in Richfield and attended grade school in Bloomington. The family moved to Cambridge where Danine was confirmed at Joy Lutheran Church and went on to graduate from Cambridge High School in 1976. After high school she attended the University of Minnesota Duluth where she received her degree in Business Administration. Her first job was at First Trust in St. Paul where she worked for15 years. On October 13, 1984 she was united in marriage to Edward P. Fitzgerald at Church of Blessed Sacrament in St. Paul. The couple made their home in St. Paul until 1988 when they purchased a home in Maplewood where they would raise their two children John and Anna. Danine also worked at Norwest Banks, later Wells-Fargo Bank which she continued to work until her health prevented her from doing so. She was a member of the Church of Blessed Sacrament and was also treasurer of the Omni Swim Club in Maplewood. Danine enjoyed watching her children compete in swimming. She played piano and was quite gifted in organizational skills; she also kept the household finances in order. Danine like to watch figure skating and attending championship competitions. The family took a vacation to Ireland eight years ago which was a highlight of her life. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Rene and Mildred Stadin, Victor and Mary Krinke, and father-in-law Edward E. Fitzgerald, Danine is survived by her husband Edward, children John and Anna all of Maplewood, parents Gene and Joan Krinke, brothers Mark Krinke (Jani Mell), Scott Krinke (Anna McDonagh), Jon (Joy) Krinke all of Cambridge, mother-in-law Margaret Fitzgerald of Maplewood, sisters-in-law Peggy (Michael) Ohlhauser of Maplewood, Patricia Fitzgerald of Inver Grove Heights, brothers-in-law Thomas (Mai) Fitzgerald, Brian (Monica) Fitzgerald all of Maplewood, as well as many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
